The Barlow pattern originated in Sheffield England, but it is American as “apple pie” thanks to the popularity in postcolonial America. True to the original, the Tidioute #14 Lick Creek Barlow has a single clip point blade, teardrop handle and long bolsters marked "TC" for Tidioute Cutlery. This version comes with a satin finished blade and Goldenrod saw cut bone covers.
Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery.
Blade: The classic clip point blade opens with a snap via the long pull groove with a solid half stop for safety. A fine satin finish delivers a classy look paired with the "Good as Gold" banner blade etch. A pronounced spine swedge adds visual appeal and enhances piercing performance.
Handle: The teardrop shaped handle has modern steel liner and brass pin construction with long bolsters topping the handsome Goldenrod yellow saw cut bone covers for a warm, tactile feel and rugged good looks. The polished bolsters are a cornerstone feature of the Barlow pattern and come grooved and engraved for a premium feel.
1095: A simple, extensively used carbon steel with low edge retention and corrosion resistance. Easy to sharpen to a fine edge, 1095 can be differentially heat treated for better performance.
