The #23 from Great Eastern Cutlery is the GEC version of a classic two-blade trapper. Instead of the traditional blade profiles Great Eastern has opted to go with a drop point Skinner paired with a hefty Spey blade. With a full size handle and dual, satin finished 1095 carbon steel blades this Trapper is ready to handle your heavy use tasks. This Tidioute version comes with Woodland Micarta covers and Badge shield.

Blade: The #23 Trapper comes with two blades: a drop point Skinner and robust Spey blade. Both blades are equipped with a full flat grind, subtle top swedge and traditional nail nick for opening. The drop point skinner is embellished with a pioneer etching and both blades ride on strong individual back springs for secure, slip joint operation with half-stop.

Handle: Jigged Woodland Micarta handle scales are fitted perfectly to the brushed nickel silver bolsters of the generous handle, supported by solid brass liners. Jigged for a more organic look and feel, the Woodland Micarta covers offer a rugged, natural style and warm in hand feel while delivering exceptional traction in the hand as well as weather resistance and durability of a modern composite. Brass liners and pins round out construction along with the brushed Badge shield.

Each GEC folder ships rolled in wax paper inside a shipping tube with company information on the front.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
