Blade: The #33 comes with two blades situated at opposite ends of the handle. The primary blade is a mid-size, flat ground Clip Point blade for tackling the heavy work as well as detail work when whittling and woodworking and a flat ground pen blade for finer work. Both 1095 carbon steel blades function with a snappy slip joint operation opening via a long pull on the main blade and a classic nail nick on the pen blade. Both blades sport a subtle top swedge for style and performance and are finished in a high polish satin.
Handle: Sambar stag handle scales are fitted perfectly between the dual nickel silver bolsters of the gently curving handle which tapers slightly toward either end. Organic texture has a high traction, tactile feel and natural color variation. This UN-X-LD #33 has pinched and triple grooved bolsters befitting this high-end production piece. Brass liners and pins round out construction with no shield, maintaining the rugged look of the stag.
Ships rolled in wax paper inside a GEC tube with company information on the front.
1095 Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
