Much like the larger Gro, the Spire (Norwegian for "to sprout") the Helle Spire provides a robust handle and razor sharp blade for exceptional woodcarving performance with carefully considered safety features for novice users. The Spire has a blunt tip Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade and dark dyed birch handle.

Blade: The drop point blade is small and easy to control for novice users with a blunt tip for added safety. Equipped with a modified Scandinavian grind the solid Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade has less flex compared to a laminated steel for greater control. The razor sharp edge delivers clean, easy cuts while the polished satin finish offers visual appeal. A small micro bevel edge makes the Scandi grind more robust and easier to sharpen and maintain.

Handle: Dark dyed birch wood is hand shaped and finished for a handle that fills the hand for a secure grip. The size is ideally suited to smaller hands delivering a three-finger grip for adults. A prominent forward guard provides added safety for beginners and supervised children looking to safely develop their knife handling skills and carving technique.

Carries via a snap closure, hand stitched Nordic style natural leather belt sheath.

Sandvik 12C27: A modified AISI 420, Sandvik 12C27 has around 4 times the carbon for higher hardness. Thanks to a high purity and fine carbide microstructure, this steel delivers good corrosion resistance, high hardness and exceptional toughness, allowing for razor sharpness.
