In Blue/Black G10, this Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Recurve runs a Working Finish titanium frame lock and thick MagnaCut stock. It is a hard-use folder built to come apart and be put back together your way.

• Magnacut Recurve Blade - Magnacut resists rust better than most high-performance steels, and it holds an edge through long pulls without becoming a sharpening chore. The recurve belly catches rope and webbing and keeps cutting instead of skating off.
• Titanium Frame Lock with Lockbar Stabilizer - Lockup arrives early and sits dead solid, with no play in any direction. The 6AL4V titanium lock side is CNC machined thick, and the Hinderer lockbar stabilizer keeps the bar from being bent past where it should travel.
• Tri-Way Pivot System - Swap between caged bearings, phosphor bronze washers, or Teflon to tune the action to the work. Running on bearings the blade free-falls with no effort. A strong detent means the thumb studs flick it open in a single motion.
• Blue/Black G10 Handle - Blue and black G10 layers into a marbled pattern, cooler here against the gray Working Finish titanium. The scale mounts over a titanium liner, and open frame standoffs make rinsing the handle out a two-minute job.

The Hinderer XM-18 3.5" is Rick Hinderer's take on a folder you can genuinely beat on and then rebuild to taste. It is overbuilt on purpose, with a thick titanium frame lock, a Lockbar Stabilizer that keeps the lockbar from over-traveling, and a press-fit thumb stud that braces against the frame to absorb the sideways torque many folders can't. Hinderer designed the whole knife to come apart with common tools, down to the Tri-Way Pivot, which swaps between ball bearings, phosphor bronze washers, and Teflon depending on how you want the action to run.
