Designed with function in mind, the Kershaw Antic is a compact folder that can do more than just cut. The oversized utlity ring at the end of the handle gives the use multiple grip options while also acting as a flat end screwdriver/mini pry bar and bottle opener. An optimum size for carry almost anywhere with a sub-2 inch blade, the Antic makes the perfect companion from the office to the campsite.
Brand new directly from Kershaw Knives.
The Blade: Composed of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, the deep-bellied blade locks into place via a framelock making it safe and versatile for most day-to-day cutting tasks. Dual thumb studs allow for easy one-handed opening with either hand while jimping along the spine provides additional traction for detail work.
The Handle: One of the most prominent features of this folder is the oversized ring found at the end of the handle. Not only does this ring allow for additional grip options by sliding your pinky through like you would with a karambit style knife, it also features a flat head screwdriver/mini prybar and bottle opener. Made of navy blue PVD coated stainless steel, the handle is both sturdy and good looking. Framelock backside with single-position stainless steel pocket clip to finish it off.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
