LionSteel of Italy and custom knife maker Gudy Van Poppel have teamed up to deliver a production version of Van Poppel's Gitano folder. Heavily influenced by the classic Spanish Navaja, this modern slip joint has the same sweeping lines and eye-catching clip point blade executed with LionSteel precision in modern, high-performance materials. This version comes with a Niolox blade, titanium bolsters and liners and Carbon Fiber scales.

Blade: Made from Niolox tool steel the big, sweeping blade of the Gitano delivers performance and style in equal measure. A fine satin finish adds to the stylish look while the lack of nail nicks keep the blade looking clean. The high saber ground, clip point profile is a classic, offering solid performance for slicing and piercing tasks. Plenty of blade rides outside the handle when closed allow for a solid grip for ambidextrous opening. A great choice for dress carry or every day use when a larger blade is desired..

Handle: The Navaja-inspired design has a similar sweeping handle with titanium bolstered Carbon Fiber scales supported by crowned titanium liners. The back-spring is crowned and, along with the chamfered scales and bolsters, offer a very comfortable feel in the hand. The tapering handle provides a solid and secure grip while a subtle index guard provides some added safety. The moderate back spring tension delivers smooth pull with snappy half and full stops for secure use.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up only stainless steel pocket clip.

Niolox Tool Steel: Stain resistant tool steel, with good edge holding and decent toughness. Contains niobium, one of the best carbide forming elements, and has a typical working hardness from 58-63 HRC. D2-like wear resistance with better edge stability and a very fine grain for razor sharpness.
