Whether you call it a Sheepsfoot, Wharncliffe or cleaver, the Chunky Monkey from Medford Knife and Tool is a beefy little powerhouse flipper. Made from dual slabs of 3/16" thick titanium, this frame lock flipper is small yet mighty, offering a +2" blade of S35VN that is robust and slices like a razor. Thanks to the compact size, the Chunky Monkey makes a perfect choice for urban areas or office carry. This version comes with a tumble finished CPM-S35VN blade and black PVD coated titanium handles with faced blue clip.

Blade: The blade is made from stout 3/16" thick CPM-S35VN that has been tumbled and then ground with a mid-height hollow grind delivering a blade with razor-like slicing performance while retaining good durability. The blade deploys smoothly on washers via the index flipper, though a bit of wrist action is required. Jimping on the spine pairs with the flipper tab guard for a secure grip. A trio of diminishing holes adorns the blade, while a generous choil allows easy sharpening.

Handle: Two 3/16" slabs of solid titanium pair with the NP3 clear coated D2 back spacer to form the rock solid handle. The slabs are finished in a matte black PVD coating for stylish and discreet carry, with stepped milling on the front scale for a more contoured feel. All the edges are chamfered for comfort. The beefy frame lock mechanism is smooth and reliable for safe use. An extension from the back spacer is milled with a lanyard attachment hole and black hardware completes the construction. Includes an S3 hard case and Certificate of Creation and Authenticity.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up faced blue 3D titanium pocket clip with tension ball.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20%, with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.
