Black on black, this Microtech LUDT RAM-LOK is a full-size manual folder on a crossbar lock, pairing a milled Frag aluminum frame with a flat-ground M390MK tanto for everyday slicing.

• RAM-LOK Crossbar Lock - Dual thumb studs roll the blade out smooth on silica carbide bearings. At full open a rectangular steel bar drives forward on a single coil spring and wedges into the tang, a crisp lockup with no play. Stepped X-pads on either side pull it back.
• Black Two-Tone M390MK Blade - The grinds carry a black coating and the flats are left satin, bright metal showing at the thumb studs. M390MK is a premium powder stainless that Böhler blends for Microtech. Its dense carbides hold an edge far longer than most stainless steels, though bringing that edge back wants diamond or CBN. Flat ground, the tanto cuts with ease and the black finish hides working marks.
• Black Frag Aluminum Handle - The Frag pattern is milled straight into the aluminum frame, a grippy surface cut from the metal itself. A backspacer closes the spine, and a lanyard hole passes through the end of the handle.
• Tip-Up Everyday Carry - The pocket clip mounts tip-up, which puts the thumb studs under your thumb as the knife clears your pocket. Carrying about the weight of a deck of cards, it sits in a front pocket next to keys and a phone without dragging the seam down.

The Microtech LUDT RAM-LOK

The Microtech LUDT RAM-LOK is the first LUDT to arrive as a manual folder. The name stands for Large Underwater Demolition Team and the handle shape and the ergonomics remain unchanged. Microtech opened in 1994 with the UDT, a knife built to open underwater, and the LUDT scaled it up, still made in the USA. The grind stays thin enough behind the edge that food prep falls inside its range as comfortably as cardboard does.
