Microtech Socom Alpha Mini S/E Signature Carbon Fiber DLC M390 Fixed Blade 113M

It took more than a decade for Microtech to deliver a fixed Socom, the Socom Alpha, but lucky for us the Alpha Mini was quick on its heels. A more compact version of the full size Alpha, the Mini delivers the same level of performance and precision fit and finish in a package that is easier to carry for added versatility. This Signature Series version comes with a black DLC coated M390, clip point blade, matching hardware and carbon fiber handle scales.

Blade: The clip point blade is saber ground for a balance of strength and cutting performance outfitted with a durable Diamond-Like Carbon or DLC finish over satin flats and stonewashed grinds. DLC resists wear and corrosion and is discreetly non-reflective. High performance, Bohler M390 delivers top-end corrosion resistance and edge retention for optimal performance.

Handle: The full tang blade supports 3D machined and contoured carbon fiber handle scales that are securely attached with proprietary DLC coated hardware. The spine is proud to the scales for added comfort while full jimping around the handle on the scales and spine deliver ideal traction in the hand. A hole at the pommel end allows for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a molded Kydex sheath with locking DOTS belt clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
