Microtech UTX-70 Satin Drop Point CTS-XHP Black OTF Automatic Knife 148-4

Based on the classic Ultratech platform, the Microtech UTX-70 is a scaled down version coming in at 70% of the size of the standard Ultratech making this double action auto ideal for everyday carry. This version has a black anodized aluminum handle and satin finished CTS-XHP, single edge, drop point blade.

Blade: Equipped with a bright satin finish, the drop point has a plain single cutting edge. The drop point is utilitarian and performance orientated, made from high performance CTS-XHP steel. Dual fullers and a top swedge offer added visual appeal. The sub-3 inch blade features a double action mechanism for smooth and fast operation. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: Smooth, black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum forms the tough, lightweight handle. Rounded edges create a comfortable feel in-hand and smooth transition in and out of your pocket. The UTX-70 is slimmer than the Ultratech or UTX-85 allowing it to be carried in a watch pocket or shirt pocket as well as via the clip. Construction is completed with Microtech's proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.

Carries via a right hand, tip-down, stainless steel pocket clip.

CTS-XHP: An ultra-high-carbon 'stainless' steel that was developed to combine the corrosion resistance of 440C and wear resistance of D2. With good wear resistance and the ability to attain a high hardness, CTS XHP has edge retention somewhere between S30V and ZDP 189. An excellent choice for any knife that is going to see a lot of use.
