Morakniv Company History

Mora, Sweden has been a knife-making town since the 1600s, but the company we know today is newer than that. Two separate factories, Frosts Knivfabrik and KJ Eriksson, operated independently for decades before merging in 2005 to form Mora of Sweden. In 2016, the company rebranded as Morakniv, consolidating everything under one roof in the same village where it all started. The result is a knife trusted by everyone from weekend bushcrafters to full-time tradesmen.

Why Buy Morakniv?

Few knives at this price point come close to what Morakniv puts out. The steel is consistent, the construction is solid, and the scandi grind makes sharpening straightforward. That grind also means less material removed over time, so the blade stays in working shape longer than most. If you need a fixed blade that earns its keep without emptying your wallet, Morakniv is the answer.
