Custom knife maker Enrique Pena is known for his exceptionally well crafted and refined designs as well as the blending of traditional and modern elements. This Pena Knives Front Flipper Barlow is a perfect example and offers his custom design in a more affordable, production platform. This version comes with a satin finished, M390 blade, titanium faux bolsters and jigged 'scales'.

Blade: Following the pattern of a classic Barlow this knife has a clip point blade with a modern front flipper tab for deployment. Made from premium, Bohler M390 stainless steel with a fine satin finish the blade has a high saber grind, aggressive Bowie-like clip point swedge and razor sharp edge. It rides on a ceramic bearing pivot and hardened stainless steel washers for a reliably smooth deployment with a well dialed in ceramic detent for decisive deployment.

Handle: Modern in construction, the straight Barlow handle offers a classic style and functional ergonomics. Two thick titanium slabs form the handle with integral long faux bolsters, signature to the Barlow. The scale section of the handles are jigged for a timeless feel and added traction with a subtle contoure for a comfortable, ergonomic grip. The rear slab is cut into a reliable frame lock mechanism and outfitted with a hardened steel lock face for smooth, reliable operation. Construction is rounded out with a titanium partial back spacer and satin Torx hardware.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up, 3D machined titanium pocket clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
