The Pena X-Series Mula is a production version of the custom design from maker Enrique Pena. This is a slim, everyday carry folder with clean lines and a functional, elegant that strikes a perfect balance of robust construction and utilitarian performance. Equipped with dual thumb studs, the Mula delivers fast deployment without an excessive footprint in the pocket. This version comes with a satin finished M390 blade, bronze anodized pivot collars, tumbled titanium front scale and matching frame lock side.

Blade: The Mula offers just under 3 inches of razor sharp cutting edge on a utilitarian drop point blade. Made from premium, Bohler M390 stainless steel the blade has a top swedge that tapers the blade to a fine yet durable point for piercing while the mid-height saber grind balances durability with slicing performance. A short section of jimping on the thumb ramp offers added traction and indexing. Dual titanium thumb studs allow for ambidextrous deployment which is fast, smooth and decisive thanks to the caged ceramic ball bearing pivot riding on hardened stainless steel washers. Bronze anodized pivot collars lend a pop of color while the bi-directional satin finish lends the Mula a high-performance, custom feel.

Handle: Two thick titanium scales have a tumbled finish with chamfered edges for comfort in the hand. The titanium frame lock is equipped with a hardened steel lock face which ensures smooth operation and rock solid lockup over the life of the knife. Disengagement is easily performed one-handed. Construction is completed with satin finished titanium hardware and a jimpied titanium partial back spacer with inline lanyard pin.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end, user grade knives thanks to its high level edge retention and exceptional corrosion resistance making it very low maintenance. It also resists burr formation for greater ease of sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and CPM-20CV.
