Pepe Jalomo Custom Trapper Canvas Micarta CPM154 Slip Joint Folder

Jose "Pepe" Jalomo Jr. is a custom knife maker who has honed his skill to perfection and this custom Trapper pattern slip joint is an excellent example of it and his attention to detail. The handle is a traditional Trapper pattern with custom-made canvas Micarta covers. The blade is a beautifully satin-finished clip point style made from CPM-154 for modern performance. While being a capable and classic traditional user this rare piece would be a jewel in any collection.

Knife is brand new, direct from the maker at the 2019 USN Gathering in Las Vegas.

Blade: Premium CPM 154 stainless steel is finished with a beautiful, hand-rubbed satin finish and a subtle swedge tapering the clip point blade to a precision tip. CPM-154 delivers modern performance with a balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness. The Wharncliffe profile and shallow hollow grind allow this knife to slice and pierce with optimal performance. A generous nail nick allows for easy opening of the blade on the smooth slip joint back spring, also made of CPM 154. Excellent walk and talk with a flush spine in all three positions.

Handle: The traditional Trapper pattern is executed with brushed stainless steel liners alongside handmade canvas Micarta scales produced by GL Hansen giving it a unique rustic appearance. The back spring is equipped with a hand rubbed satin finish which also matches the steel shield on the front cover.

Hand-stitched leather pouch included for pocket carry and storage.

CPM154: is a particle metallurgy version of 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process providing it with an increase in toughness and easy of finishing. CPM-154 takes a very fine edge and is highly corrosion resistant. Edge retention is going to be on-par with CPM S30V while being easier to resharpen. A great all-around blade steel.
