The 220/1000 Dual Grit Pride Abrasive 8" x 2" Aluminum Oxide Water Stone is made from high quality bonded aluminum oxide. The more compact size of the 2" wide stone offers a more convenient and portable size for travel. The 220 Grit is perfect for removing extensive damage or re-profiling your edge before general sharpening. 1000 Grit is a good place to start for general sharpening when you don't have edge damage and delivers a coarse edge for aggressive slicing on a plain edge blade.
