This Protech Avalon comes in Battleworn Green knurled aluminum with a black DLC MagnaCut blade, thin behind the edge for slicing. It is a large button lock folder built for slicing.

• Black DLC MagnaCut Blade - MagnaCut is a premium stainless that shrugs off rust and takes hard use without chipping, and the DLC coating adds its own wear resistance. Flat ground on thin stock, the modified clip point parts material rather than shouldering through it.
• Battleworn Green Knurled Aluminum Handle - Anodized green then worked over with a Battleworn finish, a multi-stage treatment where the scales come out weathered and worn. Their knurl is cut fine and still grips well, with a slight contouring around the long roomy handle.
• Ball-Bearing Action & Button Lock - Thumb studs sit on both sides of the blade, so either hand can open it, and the blade swings out fast and free on ball bearings. The button locks it up crisp, and a press drops the blade shut.
• Long Deep-Carry Clip & Lanyard Hole - The clip is black to match the blade and hardware, and drilled for right-side tip-up carry. A lanyard hole is machined through the end of the handle for a bead or cord.

The Protech Avalon comes out of a collaboration between Protech and Peace Neighbor, the design collective founded by actor Shawn Ashmore. Protech builds every one in the USA, and the platform leans on the precise machining and tight tolerances the shop is known for. The design stays deliberate, giving a large folder real reach and cutting length without the bulk that usually rides along with it. A quick thumb press puts the blade to work fast enough to keep pace with a stack of delivery boxes at the back door.
