Protech Magic 2 Whiskers Blue Scale Release Automatic Black DLC M2603-BLUE

Protech's Magic 2 expands on the bolster release automatic with an even more secretive design that leaves the handles mysteriously clear of any mechanism or embellishment. Ingeniously designed by Mike "Whiskers" Allen, the Magic 2 has a sliding front scale that acts as the actuator, lock and release. Simply apply pressure with your thumb to the rear of the handle to open and close using the Scale Lock Mechanism. This version has a blue handle and black DLC coated blade.

Blade: This large drop point provides excellent performance for daily utility as well as a large enough blade to call this a gentleman's tactical folder. Built from easy-sharpening 154CM stainless steel the blade is saber ground with a prominent upper swedge and coated with a durable, non-reflective black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon). Activate the sliding scale and the blade deploys lightening quick in a side-opening operation and remains solidly secured until you slide the scale to release.

Handle: Seamless hard coat, blue anodized aluminum create lightweight durability and a clean, elegant look. The scales are ergonomic and chamfered for comfort during extended use and milled grooves on the spine near the pommel end provide traction for engaging the sliding scale mechanism. The construction is completed with minimal simplicity: a single black pivot screw at the front and a smaller screw at the rear. An inline hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a tip-up, right hand, black coated, stainless steel deep carry clip.

Crucible 154CM: 154CM stainless steel is an improved version of 440C with molybdenum added. It has improved corrosion resistance and edge retention as well as a high wear resistance. Add ease of sharpening to the list and you have a great, all-around American steel.
