The Runt 5 is a high-performance Gentleman's auto in Protech's California legal Runt series. With a stout, durable build, the Runt 5 is tough enough to handle a variety of cutting tasks while being compact to carry. Constructed with modern American materials, high-tech precision manufacturing, and an advanced coil spring mechanism, Protech delivers again with the Runt 5. This version comes with a black DLC coated 20CV Wharncliffe blade, black MOP inlaid button and stonewashed Bronze Aluminum handle.

Blade: The modified Wharncliffe blade has a high saber grind and fine tip that excels at detail work while being able to handle a majority of daily cutting tasks. Coil spring automatic deployment is fast and reliable via the handsome mother-of-pearl inlaid button, while the durable black DLC finish is durable and discreet.

Handle: Made of bronze aluminumm, the handle is robust and hand filling accented with black hardware. Bronze aluminum is a premium alloy that delivers solid heft in the hand and will develop a unique natural patina with time and handling, though slower than standard bronze. Stonewashed for a rugged, wear hiding look, the small handle keeps the knife compact for carry while providing plenty of grip with a subtle choil, tapered end and dimpled jimping. The button lock is smooth, solid, and secure for safe operation.

Carries via a right-hand stainless-steel deep carry black pocket clip.

CPM-20CV: CPM-20CV (analog to M390 and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high level edge retention and corrosion resistance. Relatively easy to sharpen, the coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
