The Protech Tactical Response 4 is a full size, tactical, button lock automatic that is durable, comfortable, lightweight and fast in the hand. At just over 5 oz. it carries well while offering a robust 4-inch blade that is functional and versatile for utility and defensive use. This Custom version comes with a hand compound ground and mirror polished 154CM blade by custom maker Mike Irie with black aluminum handle and black mother-of-pearl button inlay. Each piece is serialized on the handle frame.

Blade: Made from 154CM stainless steel, the utilitarian drop point blade is equipped with a custom, hand mirror polished compound grind that offers exceptional slicing performance with dual hollow grinds and top swedge for powerful piercing ability. A stunning collector's piece, the mirror polished hollow grinds offer added corrosion resistance and cutting performance with satin flats for contrast. Automatic deployment is fast, smooth and reliable with a strong coil spring mechanism operated via the black mother-of-pearl inlaid button. A slide safety offers added safety in carry.
Handle: 6061-T6 anodized aluminum makes the TR-4 tough and relatively lightweight with a black hard anodized finish that is durable and discreetly non-reflective. Milled finger grooves provide a comfortable and secure grip in the hand with subtle jimping for traction and plenty of real estate for even the largest of gloved hands. The two-tone DLC coated, hardened 410 steel back spacer has a generous lanyard hole and extends from the pommel for use as an impact tool.

Crucible 154CM: Originally developed as a stainless bearing steel, 154CM is an improved version of 440C with added molybdenum that offers improved resistance to pitting from corrosion, higher hardness for better edge retention and toughness similar to 440C. Similar to Hitachi ATS-34.
