The Protech Tactical Response 5 or TR-5 is a full-size, tactical button lock auto that is durable, comfortable, lightweight and fast in the hand. A sub-4 oz. weight makes carry a breeze. The clip point S35VN blade is simple and functional for both utility and martial use. This version comes with a black hard anodized aluminum handle and stonewashed CPM S35VN Blade with steel safety slide and glassbreaker.

Blade: CPM S35VN delivers a very corrosion resistant and durable blade that has very good edge retention. The saber grind delivers good strength, while the long top swedge provides a fine point for piercing and detail work. The stonewashed finish hides wear from use. The blade deploys via a simple, robust button operated coil spring which delivers fast deployment when the seconds count. A steel slide safety offers added security when carrying.
Handle: 6061-T6 Anodized aluminum makes the Tactical Response both tough and lightweight with a black hard anodized finish that is durable and non-reflective. Milled finger grooves provide a comfortable and secure grip in the hand, with subtle jimping for indexing. A hardened 410 steel back spacer contains a generous lanyard hole and protrudes from the pommel end of the handle for use as a glassbreaker.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up stainless steel deep carry clip.
CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20% with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.
