The SOG Altair FX is a high speed, low drag fixed blade for versatile utility in daily carry and outdoor use. A minimalist, lightweight design is paired with SOG's UMS sheath design giving multiple secure carry options. This version has a PVD coated CPM-154 blade with Squid Ink Black (dark blue) handle and sheath.

Blade: The cryo treated CPM-154 stainless steel drop point blade comes with a full flat grind for optimal performance and forward jimping for traction and control in pinch grip use when precision work is needed. A matte TiNi PVD coating allow for discreet use while enhancing corrosion resistance.

Handle: The full tang construction supports durable, contoured glass reinforced nylon (GRN) scales with traction dots which pair with jimping for a secure and comfortable grip in many positions. The proud tang is chamfered for a more contoured feel while remaining slim to carry. A hole at the pommel allows for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a GRN sheath with a MOLLE compatible Universal Mounting System clip.

CPM-154: A particle metallurgy (PM) version of Crucible 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process. A great all-around blade steel, CPM-154 has D2 level edge retention, corrosion resistance similar to 440C and toughness comparable to other PM stainless steels with ease of sharpening/finishing.
