Details
Designed by Japanese tactical custom knife maker Kiku Matsuda, the SOG Kiku fixed blade bares Matsuda's trademark and distinctive blade grinds and handle milling for an iconic piece that is as stylish as it is functional. A smaller 4-inch blade is fast and easy to carry while linen Micarta are rugged and high traction in the hand. This version comes with a two-tone satin finished blade and green Micarta handles.
Brand new, direct from SOG.
Blade: At just under 5 mm thick, the S35VN blade is robust enough for heavy use while being optimized for performance with a Matsuda style compound grind: flat ground at the tip with a subtle harpoon swedge and shallow hollow ground in the recurve section. A long section of jimping on the spine gives traction in multiple grip positions while the integral guard keeps your fingers safe during heavy use. A two-tone satin finish gives the blade a classy, high performance look.
Handle: The thick, full tang construction supports contoured linen Micarta scales milled with ridges around a central valley for a comfortable and secure grip and iconic look. Scales are attached with stainless hardware and an exposed pommel can be used as an impact tool and lanyard attachment point.
Carries via a Kydex sheath with a locking DOTS clip.
CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V and the adjusted chemistry makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
