In Greek mythology Damysus was the fastest of all the giants. Spartan Blades' Damysus is fast for a hefty blade and designed to perform as an all-around combat / utility knife. A straight edge and strong point combined with a full tang construction and Canvas Micarta scales, ensure it will perform the most demanding tasks. Made in Olean, NY in collaboration with the good people at KA-BAR knives, this version of the Damysus comes with a blade of black powder coated, 1095 carbon steel with Green Canvas Micarta handles and molded polymer sheath.

Blade: Made of 3/16 inch thick, 1095CV carbon steel, the drop point profile of the Damysus is equipped with a high saber grind that offers solid cutting performance while leaving the blade and tip with unparalleled durability. Finished with a durable, black powder coating the blade gains some corrosion resistance as well as being discreetly non-reflective. A jimped thumb ramp and forward finger choil offer excellent security and control when gripping close to the blade.

Handle: Mounted to the full tang blade with black oxide stainless hardware are dual Green Canvas Micarta handle scales that have been contoured for comfort and milled with crosshatch pattern which enhances traction in the hand for a secure grip in adverse conditions. A neutral design makes the knife fast in the hand and comfortable in a variety of grip positions with a dual choil design that gives the option to grip close to the blade for control or toward the subtly flared pommel end for more leverage when chopping. A generous hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via an injection molded sheath with active retention thumb lever and drop loop.

1095 CV High Carbon Steel: Based on 1095 carbon steel with the addition of small amounts of V, Mo, Ni, Cr. 1095CV or 1095 CroVan offers improved wear resistance and toughness compared to 1095, this steel is non-stainless and requires care to prevent corrosion.
