Designed by Green Beret and Special Forces teammate Tu Lam of Ronin Tactics, the Spartan Ronin Shoto (meaning “short blade” in Japanese) offers the power of a karambit style ring knife with the versatility of a modern tactical folder. The Ronin Shoto has a compact CTS-XHP Tanto blade with fast Emerson Wave deployment and solid steel liner construction with high traction G10 handle scales. This version comes with a black and red G10 handle and dark stonewashed blade.

Blade: The Tanto blade offers strong piercing performance and more daily carry utility than the traditional hawkbill karambit. Spartan's Oil Infused Bronze Bushing System (OIBBS) provides smooth, reliable operation and fast deployment on the draw via the Wave feature. Premium CTS-XHP steel comes with a stonewashed black TiNi coating that hides wear and is low-profile in use.

Handle: Stainless steel liners support high traction black G10 scales for traction in adverse conditions while the large ring end allows for karambit style use with or without gloves. A red G10 spacer in the ring indicates this knife is “live” with a sharpened blade. Strategic jimping further enhances traction, while the liner lock operates smoothly and delivers solid lockup for safe use.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up stainless steel pocket clip.

CTS-XHP: An ultra-high-carbon steel that was developed to combine the corrosion resistance of 440C and hardness of D2. It offers good hardness with toughness-edge retention balance, both being better than S35VN with easier sharpening. Corrosion resistance is closer to 3V than 440C, making it more of a semi-stainless.
