The smaller size and discreet stainless steel wire pocket clip makes the Chaparral a great every day carry option for a variety of environments. No matter the material the Chaparral is a jewel in the Spyderco line up. The Birdseye Maple variant has handsome burl wood handles for a more traditional look and feel.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco, Taiwan.
Blade: The Chaparral has a fully flat ground, leaf shaped blade made from satin finished CTS-XHP. This blade shape is excellent for slicing and piercing tasks thanks to the fine edge and point along with a thin blade stock. Ambidextrous operation is smooth via the Spyderco Round Hole opener.
Handle: Built with skeletonized partial stainless steel liners and Birdseye Maple wood scales, the construction delivers a lightweight construction with a warm, organic feel and comfortable ergonomics in hand. The wood handles give a more traditional feel to this high performance, modern Gentleman's folder. The stainless steel mid-back lock mechanism deliver secure carry and operation.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel deep carry wire pocket clip.
About CTS-XHP: Developed by Carpenter Technology Steel to be a stainless alternative to D2. CTS-XHP and CPM S30V have comparable performance in terms of both edge retention and toughness all things being equal.
