Spyderco Ikuchi Alexander Design Compression Lock Top Wheel Flipper

Paul Alexander, designer of the Spyderco Ouroboros and Sliverax, is a knife enthusiast who designs striking and innovative folders designed for every day carry and use. He is back again with the award winning Ikuchi flipper that utilized the unique Spyderco Compression Lock and a new Wheel Flipper design to deliver a singular design that is slim, stylish and functional. "Ikuchi" is a supernatural sea serpent from Japanese legend and like its namesake we are pretty sure the Spyderco Ikuchi will be legendary as well. Like the Sliverax before it, the Ikuchi comes with an S30V blade and Peel-ply Carbon Fiber/ G10 laminate handle scales.

Blade:The sweeping CPM S30V blade is fully flat ground making this knife an excellent slicer while the slender, fine tipped blade excels at fine work. Spyderco knows how to make a blade that cuts. There is a mostly ornamental SpyderHole that is covered in the closed position as the design of the blade and handle allow for full coverage when closed for a sleek package. The blade opens utilizing the unique "Wheel" top flipper that feels and functions in much the same way as the striker wheel of a lighter. Positive jimping and a ball bearing pivot make for fast, ambidextrous deployment using index finger or thumb

Handle: The blade is swallowed by Peel-ply Carbon Fiber/ G10 laminate handle scales that are mounted over inset, skeletonized stainless steel liners in an open back construction. One of the stainless liners is used for the Compression lock which is smooth and simple to operate while providing secure lock up. This is a winning combination of traction, light weight, durability, and style. The handles are designed with a sweeping taper to the pommel end that allows the knife to be exceptionally slender while locking securely and comfortably in the hand.

Carries via an ambidextrous, tip-up, stainless steel deep carry wire clip.
