Spyderco Ladybug 3 Salt Serrated H1 Yellow FRN LYLS3
Spyderco’s smallest lightweight knife, the Ladybug, easily attaches to your key chain seamlessly integrating into your everyday carry and offering an efficient cutting tool in an ultra ultra-lightweight package. The hollow ground, modified clip point blade punches well above its weight class, being only 0.6 of an ounce (16.4 grams) thanks to the linerless fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction. Spyderco's Bi-directional texturing ensures a secure grip with a mid-back lock for safety during use. This Salt version comes with Yellow FRN handles and a fully serrated SpyderEdge, H1 stainless steel blade.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives, Japan.
Blade: Delivered in a modified clip point profile, the hollow ground, satin finished H1 stainless steel delivers powerful slicing performance with a fully serrated SpyderEdge. SpyderEdge serrations increase the cutting edge surface by up to 24% and make short work of tough, fibrous materials while still being capable of clean slicing with proper technique. A fine tip is great for piercing and detail work. Jimping on the thumb ramp offers enhances traction and control while Spyderco's ambidextrous Round Hole opener makes for smooth, easy, one hand operation. The small size makes this a perfect choice for fine work or for carry in restrictive environments.
Handle: Linerless FRN handles are durable, lightweight and impervious to the elements with contoured edges for comfort and exceptional traction in the hand thanks to the Bi-Directional texturing. Ergonomic in design, the handle offers a solid three finger grip with a generous hole for lanyard attachment if added grip area is required. A sturdy mid-back lock design offers rock solid lock up and reliable security in use while the Boye Dent prevents accidental disengagement of the lock when gripping the handle with heavy pressure.
This knife has no clip. Carries well in the pocket or on a key ring.
H1 is a low-carbon, high-nitrogen, work hardening "steel" that is, for all practical purposes, impervious to rust. It has an attainable Rockwell hardness in the high 60s (especially when serrated) while still maintaining durability. For extremely corrosive environments, like salt water, this is the material of choice.
