Details

A bit bigger and broader than its female counterpart, the Spyderco Manbug offers a similarly compact package that easily attaches to your key chain or drops into the pocket or bag for everyday carry, offering an efficient cutting tool in an ultra ultra-lightweight package. The fully flat ground, modified clip point blade has improved slicing geometry, punching above its weight class, being only 0.65 of an ounce (19 grams) thanks to the linerless fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction. As with the Ladybug, Spyderco's Bi-directional texturing ensures a secure grip with a mid-back lock for safety during use. This version comes with British Racing Green FRN handles and a plain edge, ZDP-198 carbon steel blade.

Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives, Japan.

Blade: Delivered in a wide, modified clip point profile, the fully flat ground, satin finished, Japanese ZDP-198 carbon steel blade offers enhanced slicing performance with a razor sharp plain edge. Jimping on the thumb ramp offers enhances traction and control while Spyderco's ambidextrous Round Hole opener makes for smooth, easy, one hand operation. The small size makes this a perfect choice for fine work or for carry in restrictive environments.

Handle: Linerless FRN handles are durable, lightweight and impervious to the elements with contoured edges for comfort and exceptional traction in the hand thanks to the Bi-Directional texturing. Ergonomic in design, the handle offers a solid three finger grip with a generous hole for lanyard attachment if added grip area is required with a slightly larger grip on the Manbug for users with bigger hands. A sturdy mid-back lock design offers rock solid lock up and reliable security in use while the Boye Dent prevents accidental disengagement of the lock when gripping the handle with heavy pressure.

This knife has no clip. Carries well in the pocket or on a key ring.

Hitachi ZDP-189: A Japanese particle metallurgy steel ZDP-189 has an extremely high carbon (3%) and chromium content (20%). Capable of attaining a very high hardness 65 to 70 HRC, ZDP-189 also has a high carbide content (~30%) giving is very good edge holding (and moderate toughness) while still being relatively easy to sharpen. Despite 20% chromium content ZDP-189 has most of its chromium tied up in the hard carbides making it a non-stainless steel.
