Originally released in 2001 the distinctive Spyderco Massad Ayoob folding knife bears the name of its designer and has a striking look that is pragmatic in design. The negative angle aligns the blade with the forearm for more efficient energy transfer during use while shortening the opening arc. By popular demand the Ayoob is back as a limited production Sprint Run with a CPM-Cruwear tool steel blade with distinguishing gray G10 handle scales. This version comes with a fully serrated Spyderedge cutting edge.

Blade: Saber ground and satin finished CPM-Cruwear tool steel delivers high-end cutting performance with solid strength. Cruwear offers good wear resistance with excellent toughness and edge stability for a thinner, high performance edge. A serrated edge makes this a powerful cutting tool with aggressive slicing potential. The negative angle makes use more ergonomic with effective force transfer and a short opening arc via the ambidextrous RoundHole. A jimped thumb ramp provides added traction for safety.

Handle: Rugged peel ply G10 handle scales are durable and weather resistant with good traction. Skeletonized stainless steel liners support for a rock solid foundation with subtle curves and plenty of real estate for a variety of secure grips. A mid-back lock is time tested and reliable with easy operation, solid lockup and smooth one hand operation.

Carries via a 4-position stainless-steel pocket clip.

CPM-CruWear: A PM tool steel with toughness approaching that of CPM-3V and edge retention comparable to CPM S30V/S35VN. High chromium content makes it semi-stainless, with corrosion resistance at or above that of D2. High toughness and hardness allows for a thinner edge and better performance.
