Specializing in intricate, handcrafted folding knives, many inspired by the shapes of animals, Japanese knife maker Kazuyuki Sakurai has collaborated with Spyderco Knives to offer a production version of one of his most popular series of designs, the dog-shaped “Pochi” (poh-chee). Its name derives from the most common Japanese dog name, roughly the equivalent of “Spot" and his first Spyderco collaboration faithfully translates his novel design into a unique production folder. Equipped with a hollow-ground CPM S45VN blade, bead-blasted titanium handle with Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) and blue-anodized folding “tail,” titanium pocket clip, and pivot-pin accent the Pochi is sure to become your new "best friend" for daily carry.

Blade: At just over two inches the blade of the Pouchi is legal in most areas while still providing powerful cutting performance thanks to a 2.5 mm thickness, razor sharp hollow grind and fine clip point. The forward "leg" of the dog forms an index finger guard for added safety while the Spyderco Round Hole offers easy operation.

Handle: Bead blasted matte gray the solid titanium construction is robust and lightweight with a reliable Reeve Integral Lock built right into the frame. Polished scallops on both sides of the handle spine add traction and visual appeal along with blue anodized pivot collar, folding tail and pocket clip with paw print milling.

CPM S45VN: An evolution in the S30-series of steels from Crucible, S45VN shows improved edge retention and corrosion resistance relative to S35V a slight reduction in toughness. Also considered an upgrade to Elmax with similar edge retention but better hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, and a finer carbide structure (better sharpness).
