Spyderco Shabaria Gray G10 Sprint Run C59GGYP

Also known as the Shibriya, the Shabaria is based on the traditional curved knife of the nomadic Bedouin people of the Jordan River Valley who carried large fixed blades for both agricultural use and protection. Designer Eduard Bradichansky took this traditional design and transformed it into a modern folding knife. The Shabaria is being re-released in this limited, 1200 Piece Sprint Run with the original design construction with Gray G10 scales and VG-10 blade.

Blade: The eye-catching recurve blade delivers exceptionally powerful cutting performance with a saber grind that provides a razor sharp cutting edge and formidable piercing tip while retaining a full 1/8" thick stock at the spine for strength. Opens smooth as silk via the 11mm SpyderHole.

Handle: The unusual design of the Shabaria continues in the coffin-like hourglass handle. It's slim and conveys a since of balance and comfort in a variety of grips. This Sprint version retains the steel liner construction and Walker Liner Lock mechanism for smooth operation and reliable, secure lock up. This Shabaria comes with Gray G10 handle scales unique to this version. Carries via a classic 3-Hole Spyderco clip set up for tip-up, right hand only carry and adorned with the golden "Bug" logo.

Japanese VG-10: VG-10 is a high-carbon stainless steel that takes a very good edge and holds it well. Popular with Japanese kitchen knife makers it is often hardened to 60-61 HRC A popular choice for small pocket knives thanks to good edge holding and stain resistance VG10 works well with a high polished, acute edge for optimal slicing performance.

About Sprint Runs: Each year Spyderco releases a limited number of Sprint run knives, with a variation on an established model.
