Spyderco Shaman Large Serrated DLC Grooved Black Micarta Putman Custom Scales Folder

An evolution of the classic Spyderco Native, the Shaman is a larger, more robust variant with Spyderco's Compression Lock and ergonomic, fully contoured G10 scales. This version comes with a black DLC coated, fully serrated S30V blade and upgraded grooved black canvas Micarta Putman Custom Scales installed.

Blade: Ideal for heavier use, the +3.5 mm S30V blade has a high height saber grind for increased durability while still providing remarkable slicing performance. The matte black DLC coating is rugged and discreetly non-reflective, and offers increased corrosion resistance. Riding smooth on phosphor bronze washers, the blade opens via the ambidextrous, trademark Round Hole for easy, one-hand operation.

Handle: This Shaman is upgraded with installed Putman Custom scales in grooved canvas Micarta for excellent durability, traction even when wet and enhanced visual and tactile appeal. Micarta will darken and develop a natural patina over time with use and handling. The tapered end, mid-swell, and index finger choil work together to deliver a secure grip. Nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners support the scales with one forming the Compression lock mechanism which is smooth, easy to operate, and rock solid for secure use. Original scales are included.

Carries via a black stainless steel hourglass clip with lanyard hole. Milled for right hand, tip-up only.

Compression Lock: Similar in construction to the Walker Liner Lock, the Compression lock mechanism uses a leaf style spring cut into the handle liner. The tang of the spring wedges between the blade tang and stop pin (or anvil pin) provides exceptional lock strength, ease of operation and added safety, allowing for disengagement of lock and closing of the blade while keeping fingers clear of the blade path.

CPM-S30V: A PM stainless steel developed specifically for use in knife blades, S30V has a high level of wear resistance (edge retention) with good corrosion resistance, better than 440C or 420HC. The powdered process refines the grain, improving performance for a balanced blade steel. Toughness is comparable to other PM stainless steels, relatively low.
