Details

This custom Ranger fixed blade from maker Steve Kelly will be a trusty companion for as far as the trail goes. A full tang of super tough 52100 tool steel was used to create this piece for tearing through any wilderness. It comes completed with splendid carbon fiber handle scales and thick red fiber liners.

Brand new piece directly from Mr. Steve Kelly.

The Blade: Thick 52100 tool steel is built to take a beating. This one comes fashioned into a handy drop styled blade design with excellent piercing tip. The satin finish on a big hollow grind is contrasted by raw textured flats. They make a good combo. Its nearly four inch cutting edge should serve its user well.

The Handle: Palm filling carbon fiber scales are secured via bronze anodized titanium torx over red liners to the tang. Steve added some nice angles and contours to the carbon fiber that really add to the overall grip.

The 52100 Ranger ships in a classic brown leather sheath with belt loop for carry.

About 52100 Tool Steel: A high carbon steel (0.98-1.10) used primarily for ball bearings. Ball bearing steels traditionally have to withstand a great deal of force in a very small area. They make good edge steels because an edge also has to withstand much force in a small area. A very fine molecular structure permits very sharp edges, even at thin angles. It's similar to 5160, less tough but holds an edge better.

About the Maker: Mr Steve Kelly is the owner/operator of S.K. Knives and TiConnector precision hardware in Bigfork, Montana. He creates some of the most sought after useful tools and titanium hardware in our industry.
