Tom Krein Custom Hydra Blasted Orange/Black G10 Satin Nitro-V Fixed Blade

The Hydra is a custom drop point fixed blade from maker Tom Krein. This daily carry fixed blade is designed with Krein's signature ergonomic handle and performance oriented hollow grind making it a great EDC choice that cuts well above its weight class. This version comes with a satin finished Nitro-V stainless steel blade and blasted orange and black layered G10 handle scales over black liners with a black Micarta pin.

Blade: The drop point blade offers full-size cutting power with Tom's performance-driven geometry in a compact, easy to carry package. Satin finished Nitro-V is hollow ground to a very fine edge that delivers excellent cutting performance with good durability and plenty of belly for slicing. The tip swedge tapers the blade a fine tip for piercing and detail work. An integrated index guard pairs with Tom's iconic handle design for security in the hand. The 2.5 inch blade and 6-inch overall package make this a great companion for outdoor field work and daily carry.

Handle: Ergonomically designed, blasted G10 handle scales are contoured for unparalleled comfort in the hand and enhanced traction. Shaped with a generous palm swell, the handle design locks the hand in without compromising versatility for multiple grips. The scales are attached via a black Micarta pin and hollow lanyard tube.

Sheath: Carries via a custom molded Kydex sheath with large Tek-Lok.

Nitro-V Stainless Steel: Essentially AEB-L with added Nitrogen and Vanadium, Nitro-V is a very fine-grained, easy to sharpen steel with good edge retention and excellent edge stability allowing a thinner edge and enhanced slicing ability. Nitrogen greatly improves corrosion resistance.
