TOPS Back Bite Black 1095 Black Linen Micarta Fixed Blade BKBT-01

An aggressive break from conventional design and functionality, the TOPS Back Bite was inspired by the Russian Martial Art system of striking, trapping, attack and defense. Designed by Colin Despins, the Back Bite has a dual edge design that bites forward and back, inflicting devastating effectiveness. Black Traction Coated 1095 and Black Linen Micarta with red liners make up the blade and handle respectively.

Blade: Incorporation a unique combination of a concave strike face edge, Wharncliffe back edge and a flat chisel point the 1095 carbon steel blade is purpose built to deal damage in any direction. Durable black traction powder coating adds some corrosion resistance and provides a discreetly non-reflective finish.

Handle: Beefy, full tang construction supports TOPS' classic Black Linen Micarta handle scales over contrasting red liners forming a simple, ergonomic handle. The handle design allows for multiple grip positions, taking advantage of the unique design for maximum versatility.

Sheath: Carries via a Black Kydex sheath with rotating spring steel clip.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS utilizes a differential heat treat process which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine.
