Designed by Steven Dick, long time editor of Tactical Knives Magazine, designed the original Frog Market Special based on knives seen in Vietnam. Vietnamese butchers and fishmongers use this unusual pattern as a multipurpose tool for preparing meat in a variety of ways. The Frog Market Special XL is a larger, beefier version of the original, sure to find a place in your home or field kitchen. This version comes with a blade of Tungsten Cerakote coated 1095 carbon steel and green canvas Micarta scales.

Blade: The FMS XL sports a more robust, yet slicing-thin blade of 3/32" thick 1095 carbon steel. Saber ground for added strength, the blade handles heavier cutting tasks while still delivering excellent slicing performance. A durable Tungsten Cerakote coating provides enhanced corrosion resistance for ease of maintenance.

Handle: The handle of the Frog Market Special XL is made of contoured green canvas Micarta with contrasting white liners, comfortably contoured and ergonomic to deliver a secure grip even in wet conditions.

Sheath: Carries via a Kydex sheath with rotating metal belt clip. 

1095 Carbon Steel: A popular, simple carbon steel, 1095 is used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear resistance and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS utilizes a differential heat treat process which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine.
