The TOPS Knives Tundra Trekker was designed by Leo Espinoza to be a one tool option for all your outdoor cutting tasks. The long, kukri-inspired blade is a chopping machine but the tough saber grind also tapers toward the spine moving from tip to handle delivering a thinner grind for controlled slicing near the grip while being tough in the "sweet spot" for chopping. The saw tooth spine makes short work of notching wood or bone for making traps, tools or tent stakes. Tactical Stone coated 1095 gives a great balance of properties for an outdoor cutting tool and Rocky Mountain Tread textured Green Canvas Micarta scales offer a comfortable, ergonomic and highly secure handle option.

Blade: The full tang 1095 high carbon tool steel blade is coated with TOPS' new "Tactical Stone" coating that is visually interesting and provides a durable, corrosion resistant and non-reflective finish. The blade has a tapering saber grind that delivers better slicing performance near the handle with more durability toward the tip. This also puts more weight in the area of the blade used for chopping for added efficiency. The spine of the blade has cross-cut saw teeth that are excellent for notching wood or bone.

Handle: The full tang construction supports generous, contoured Green Canvas Micarta handle scales with high traction Rocky Mountain Tread milling attached with, black oxide stainless steel Allen bolts. A hole in the exposed tang is provided for lanyard attachment. The handle features a pronounced index finger guard and choil providing a solid and secure grip during serious use. Strategically placed jimping around the handle delivers added traction.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
