TRM Neutron 2 Autumn Orange Micarta 3D Lizard Skin MagnaCut Liner Lock Knife (3.00" Blade)

Autumn Orange Micarta, contoured and milled in Lizard Skin, gives this TRM Neutron 2 a handle that runs warm and slightly toothy. The blade behind it is thin, flat ground, and caught on a liner lock.

• Autumn Orange Micarta 3D Lizard Skin Scales - Micarta comes up warmer and denser in the hand than G10, and the Lizard Skin milling adds texture on top of that. The scales are contoured round, with skeletonized titanium liners pocketed inside.
• MagnaCut Stonewash Drop Point Blade - TRM takes the flat grind the full height of a stonewashed blade, cut from thin stock. It goes through cardboard and rope without wedging and still takes rougher jobs. MagnaCut at 60 to 61 HRC holds an edge and shrugs off damp pockets.
• The Action & Liner Lock - TRM machines the thumb studs from titanium and fits one on each side. The blade rides on phosphor bronze washers rather than bearings, and it opens smooth and controlled instead of snapping. A titanium liner springs over to sit behind the tang.
• Deep Carry Titanium Pocket Clip - The deep carry clip is titanium, bent in the same shop that machines everything else, and it rides tip-up on the right. It sets the knife low in the pocket, and there is little enough weight on the seam to carry it through a full day.

The TRM Neutron 2

The TRM Neutron 2 pockets its titanium liners down into the scales instead of stacking them on top, keeping the width for the hand rather than the hardware. The same instinct runs the blade thin and the grind flat. A knife built on a small frame slices where a lot of compact folders wedge. Les and Marianne Halpern have been machining knife parts in Massachusetts since 1997, and TRM cuts, heat treats, grinds, and assembles the Neutron 2 in that same shop, down to the clip they bend themselves.
