• Orange Red Black Micarta Handle — Layered G-Carta from GL Hansen stacks bright orange, deep red, and black into a striped handle with its own one-off pattern. The contoured scales fill the hand and keep a steady grip even when your fingers are damp or cold.
• CPM-154 Hand-Rubbed Sheepsfoot Blade — Crucible CPM-154 stainless takes a fine edge and resists rust. A hand-rubbed finish lays a soft, even sheen along the flats, applied by hand rather than machine. The hollow-ground sheepsfoot blade sets a long straight edge under a rounded tip for controlled, push-cut slicing.

About Alan Folts

Alan Folts is a custom knifemaker who works by hand out of a shop in Palm Bay, Florida. He found metalwork as a teenager, shaping jewelry from copper and brass before moving into forged blades. An early knife of his took Best of Show at a student art competition, and he went on to make knives full time after settling in North Carolina in the mid-1990s. That sculpture background still drives the work, from flowing handle shapes to warm anodized hardware, and he pays it forward by teaching the craft to newer makers whenever his time allows.
