Boker Plus Kwaiken Compact Marble Carbon Fiber D2 Titanium Flipper 01BO231
As the name implies, the Kwaiken Compact is a smaller, and most importantly lighter, version of the popular Lucas Burnley design. You get the same high quality build and streamlined design with a few changes in construction and materials. The liner lock is replaced by a contoured, milled titanium frame lock riding opposite a stunning marbled carbon fiber scale. The iconic Kwaiken blade is made from reliable D2 tool steel with a handsome satin finish riding fast and smooth on a ball bearing pivot. The Kwaiken Compact, an EDC favorite made better.
Brand new, direct from Boker Knives.
Blade: The iconic straight spine Kwaiken blade comes in satin finished D2 with a high saber grind and mid-spine swedge. A 3.5 mm blade thickness paired with the saber grind makes this blade robust enough for any daily cutting tasks while a ball bearing pivot flipper deployment gives you access to the +3 inch cutting edge at a moments notice.
Handle: Built on a robust titanium frame lock foundations, the classic tapered handle is contoured for comfort. 3D milled with texture the frame side offers added traction while the marbled carbon fiber front scale adds style while keeping the weight under 3 ounces. A carbon fiber partial back spacer is exposed at the pommel with a hole for lanyard attachment. Lockup is solid and secure with smooth operation thanks to the hardened steel lock face insert all backed up by the Hinderer Lock Bar Stabilizer.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, stainless steel deep carry clip.
D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all around knife steel.
