• Sambar Stag Covers & Lined Nickel Silver Bolsters - The stag keeps some of its natural texture with the edges rounded off, so there is grip in the palm and no sharp edges. Nickel silver bolsters and cap end are lined and dimpled, and brass liners run underneath.
• Spear & Pen Blades in Satin 1095 - The spear master does the general cutting and the pen takes fine work. Both are 1095, a simple high carbon steel that takes a keen edge and sharpens back fast. Both will patina, and the master carries the Northfield UN-X-LD etch.
• Long Pull & Nail Nick - The master opens on a long pull cut down the blade, the pen on a nail nick. Neither runs a light spring. The pull is strong on both and they snap shut hard. Neither blade locks, so that spring tension is what holds them open.
• Small-Batch American Production - Great Eastern Cutlery builds a pattern in a limited run and then moves on to the next one. The company says each knife takes more than two hundred hand operations, and all of it is made in the USA.
