The Microtech Knives Troodon out the front automatic knife is a substantial tool while still retaining a compact size that can be easily carried every day. This knife is elegant enough for dress carry while being a fully capable cutting tool. The Troodon is named after a bird-like dinosaur from the Campanian Age and is ready to strike. This version is equipped with a standard double edge blade of Stonewashed CTS-XHP and black hard anodized handle.

Blade: A wide spear point blade which has been double ground and sharpened to a razor edge on both sides sports dual plain edges delivering the clean cutting performance along the length of both edges. The American CTS-XHP blade steel was chosen for high level of corrosion resistance as well as exceptional edge retention and relative ease of sharpening. Rugged and discreet, the blade has a stonewashed finish that is semi non-reflective and hides wear from use. It is engaged via a dual action automatic mechanism. Simply press the side thumb slide up to open and then back down to close. Simple, fast and smooth.

Handle: Robust, black hard anodized, aircraft-grade alloy offers just over 4.25 inches of handle, excluding the breaker, substantial enough for large hands without becoming cumbersome in the pocket. The knife is comfortable in the hand, with contoured edges, while wide sections of jimping are perfectly placed for a secure grip. It is built with proprietary Microtech hardware, integrated glass breaker end and pocket clip.

Carries via a right hand, tip down pocket clip with production date and serial number.

CTS-XHP: An ultra-high-carbon 'stainless' steel that was developed to combine the corrosion resistance of 440C and wear resistance of D2. With good wear resistance and the ability to attain a high hardness, CTS XHP has edge retention somewhere between S30V and ZDP 189. An excellent choice for any knife that is going to see a lot of use.
