Blades: The large clip point blade is bright satin finished 1095 carbon steel with a flat grind, long pull opener and half-stop slip joint action. The blade comes etched on the front with the "Northfield" logo.
Handle: Fit perfectly between polished and grooved nickel silver bolsters are garnet red jigged bone covers delivering timeless style and a tactile feel. Construction is classic brass liner and pin with a strong stainless steel back spring for secure slip joint operation. Each GEC knife ships rolled in wax paper in a sturdy tube with company information on the front.
1095 Carbon Steel: Popular, simple carbon steel used extensively by production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear (edge retention) due to low carbide content and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
