Pepe Jalomo Custom Wharncliffe Trapper Crosscut Rag Micarta CPM154 Slip Joint

Jose "Pepe" Jalomo Jr. is a custom knife maker who has honed his skill to perfection and this custom Trapper pattern slip joint is an excellent example of it and his attention to detail. The handle is a traditional Trapper pattern with brushed stainless steel bolsters and liners and custom Crosscut Rag Micarta covers from Hansen Micarta. The blade is a beautifully satin finished Wharncliffe made from CPM-154 for modern performance.

Blade: Premium CPM 154 stainless steel is finished with a beautiful, hand rubbed satin finish and a subtle swedge tapering the Wharncliffe blade to a precision tip. CPM-154 delivers modern performance with a balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance and toughness. The Wharncliffe profile and shallow hollow grind allows this knife to slice and pierce with optimal performance. A generous nail nick allows for easy opening of the blade on the smooth slip joint back spring, also made of CPM 154. Excellent walk and talk with flush spine in all three positions.

Handle: The traditional Trapper pattern is executed with brushed stainless steel liners, integral bolsters and visually stunning, crosscut rag Micarta which delivers a classy yet rugged look. The back spring is equipped with a hand rubbed satin finish which also matches the steel spear shield on the front cover.

CPM 154:  CPM-154 is a particle metallurgy version of 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process providing it with an increase in toughness and easy of finishing. CPM-154 takes a very fine edge and is highly corrosion resistant. Edge retention is going to be on-par with CPM S30V while being easier to resharpen. A great all-around blade steel.
