The Protech TR-5 Tactical Response is a mid-size, tactical, button lock automatic that is durable, comfortable, lightweight and fast in the hand. A sub-4 oz. weight makes carry a breeze, while the drop point S35VN blade is functional and versatile for utility and defensive use. This version comes with a blue hard anodized aluminum handle and stonewashed CPM-S35VN blade.

Blade: Made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel, the utilitarian drop point blade is delivered with a rugged stonewashed finish that reduces reflectivity and hides wear from use. A high saber grind delivers good strength balanced with cutting performance, while the long top swedge provides a fine point for piercing and detail work. Automatic deploy is fast, smooth and reliable via the button operated coil spring backed by a slide safety for added safety in carry.

Handle: 6061-T6 anodized aluminum makes the TR-5 tough and lightweight with a blue hard anodized finish that is durable, non-reflective and visually appealing. Milled finger grooves provide a comfortable and secure grip in the hand with subtle jimping for indexing. The hardened 410 steel back spacer has a generous lanyard hole and extends from the pommel for use as an impact tool. Hardware, button and clip are all blasted matte gray.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20% with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.
