The Spartan Blades Ares Fighter/Combat Utility fixed blade personifies its namesake: Ares the Greek God of War. This warrior was brought to life for use by and with input from the US Special Forces. It utilizes a saber ground, drop point blade for strength and durability in all conditions while checkered Micarta scales and a notched thumb ramp provide a superior grip. The angled handle enhances the ergonomics as well as efficient power transfer during martial use. This version comes with a Flat Dark Earth coated CPM-S45VN blade, black canvas Micarta handle scales and tan Kydex sheath.

Blade: The CPM-S45VN spear point blade has a saber grind and full length swedge for excellent piercing and durability while still maintaining good slicing performance. FDE ZrN (Zirconium Nitride) PVD coating leaves a highly wear-resistant finish that is non-reflective and corrosion resistant. A jimped thumb ramp paired with a forward finger choil deliver control for fine work or fast maneuvering of the blade.

Handle: The full tang extends through two chamfered canvas Micarta handle scales milled with a checkered pattern for added traction. Slim handles make for easier carry while a pommel swell and dual finger choils offer a secure grip. The exposed pommel works as an impact tool and has a nylon lanyard attached for added safety.

Sheath: Carries via a Kydex sheath with removable Pull-the-Dot drop loop.

CPM-S45VN: An evolution in Crucible's S30-series, S45VN shows improved edge retention and corrosion resistance relative to S35VN and offers an upgrade to Elmax with better hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, and sharpness with similar edge retention.
