Spyderco Assist Salt Yellow

Details
When it came to the design for the Assist, Spyderco wanted a knife specifically designed for first responders. It was imperative that the knife could be opened and closed easily, even while wearing gloves, and that the users hand would not be in danger during use of the glass breaker. They accomplished these goals by providing a cobra hood over the thumb hole opener, and by giving the knife a comfortable finger grooved handle. The glass breaker was designed to be stored away when not in use, with a simple squeeze on the blade while closed revealing it. A convenient safety whistle is also built into the handle.
The Spyderco Assist has a mostly serrated sheepsfoot style blade, with a blunt tip for removing clothing. The salt version has been given a rust proof H-1 stainless steel blade, and a bright yellow handle composed of FRN. The wire clip is reversible, making this knife fully ambidextrous for left or right handed carry.
About the Salt Series: Although originally developed for people who work in or around a salt water environment, the Salt knives from Spyderco also lend themselves well to users whose line of work may cause them to sweat. Composed of H-1 super stainless steel, these knives are 100% rust proof, while still maintaining their ability to hold a decent edge. We've seen tests where users leave these knives in some of the harshest conditions imaginable, and each time the blade comes back looking almost brand new.
