The Sustain Fixed Blade from Spyderco Knives is a production version of Stuart Ackerman's highly acclaimed handmade Slither. It's full tang construction maximizes strength to create a formidable practical knife. A lot went into getting the balance and feel right.
The Blade: Saber ground premium steel has excellent edge holding ability and impressive corrosion resistance. It's unsharpened swedge runs the majority of the blade length and accomplishes two goals: reduces weight and ensures a very sharp point.
The Handle: Contoured 3D machined G10 scales are secured to the tang with concealed pins to reveal a clean sanitary grip. The extreme;y comfortable grip also includes a generously sized lanyard hole.
The Sheath: Pouch style leather for convenient belt carry in the field.
About CPM-20CV: A highly wear resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel, the steel contains a large volume of extremely hard vanadium carbides which provide excellent wear resistance. CPM-20CV contains the highest amount of chromium of any high-vanadium stainless steel currently available. The chromium-rich matrix provides outstanding corrosion resistance.
