This GEC Tidioute #38 Campfire Whittler GPKNIVES SFO comes with two satin finished blades made from 1095 carbon steel and has black linen micarta handle scales. Primary bolster is individually serialized and each wharncliffe blade has our Piasa Bird logo.

• Blades: Two satin finished 1095 carbon steel blades. One wharncliffe and one pen. Each has nail nick openers and is secured to either end. 
• Handle: Smooth black linen scales are attached to brass liners with brass pins. It is a dual bolster design with spear shield.
• About: This particular 38 was built to our exact specifications by Great Eastern Cutlery. It is a very Limited Edition run of just over 100 pieces. It features our local Piasa Bird etch...based on local legend, the Piasa Bird mural painted on the bluffs of the Mississipi River was first documented by Father Jacques Marquette and Louis Joliet during their journey in 1673. Father Marquette wrote of the bird that "was as large as a calf with horns like a deer, red eyes, a beard like a tiger's, a face like a man, the body covered with green, red and black scales and a tail so long it passed around the body, over the head and between the legs." The bird was given its name by the Illini Indians, "The Piasa", meaning a "bird that devours men" or "bird of the evil spirit".

The GEC Campfire Whittler

The GEC Campfire Whittler is a half whittler pattern built for taking it easy on those chilly nights. A wharncliffe and backup pen will do fine work to which ever type of wood you have on hand. Its dual bolster design is somewhat curved to keep a grip by campfire light. Don't forget the s'mores.
